Starting a training arc is easy. Staying in it for eight, ten, twelve weeks is the actual challenge. Here's what tends to separate the people who finish their arc from the people who quietly stop showing up.
"Get fit" doesn't have an ending, so it's easy to abandon quietly. "Train four days a week for eight weeks" has a finish line, which makes it much easier to commit to and measure.
Sessions that live only in your head get skipped the moment life gets busy. Put your training arc on your actual calendar the same way you would a meeting you can't move.
Missing one session is normal. Missing two in a row is how arcs quietly end. If you miss a day, treat the very next opportunity as non-negotiable.
You don't need a spreadsheet. A simple log of sessions completed, weight used, or reps done gives you visible proof of progress on the days motivation is running low.
Build a lighter recovery week into your arc from the start instead of waiting until you're exhausted or hurt to take one. It's much easier to stick to a plan that already accounts for rest.
Measurements are garment measurements, laid flat, and may vary by up to 2in / 5cm. Pro tip: measure a piece you already own and compare it to the chart below.
